It has controls for volume, bass, treble, and distortion, and the on/off footswitch which is true bypass. A mid-range control would make this pedal perfect. This pedal is now called the Du Hast! Sound Quality: 9 I can summon demons with this thing! I play various strats, teles, Kramers with EMG's, and a couple of Peavey Wolfgangs through either a 1978 custom Hiwatt 100 and some Marshall 4x12's,or a Music Man HD130 2X12 combo with vintage 30 celestions. My amps have no distortion so I need to rely on pedals, and the AMT pedals have literally changed my view on tone. The controls are very sensitive and you can even clean up your sound by rolling back the volume on your guitar....very cool! I can get any sort of tone ranging from 80's metal, to Godsmack, Metallica, and even some Pantera. I've been playing for 15 years and after having almost every brand of amplifier out there, have decided that a distortion pedal through a clean amp is my tone. And this pedal IS my tone now! The only thing that would make this pedal perfect is a mid control...HINT...HINT...DON! Reliability: 10 A 5 year no questions asked warranty.....enough said! Customer Support: 10 I called AMT directly and talked to Don Barnett in Tennessee. Him and CJ were very helpful in suggesting pedals to try out and I have had nothing but top notch service from them. Go to amtnorthamerica.com and check it out. I think I've bothered Don with so many questions, that he now recognizes my phone number and nswers with a " hey man what's up?" whenever I call. No joke! Thanks guys for the great service. Overall Rating: 10 This thing fricken rocks man. I have a Robert Keeley modified metal zone that's collecting dust now. This pedal sounds more natural, and more ballsy than some boutique amps I've tried, and anyone searching for a high-gain, true-bypass distortion pedal for under $115 should immediately try this out! |

I had ZERO problems editing/tweaking the BASS KRUSHER. In my opinion, if you need a manual for this pedal then you might want to consider doing something else because there is ZERO LEARNING CURVE for this pedal. Sound Quality: 10 I can get the sound I need for on-stage and in the studio. I'm not concerned about sounding like someone else...I'm only concerned with getting the job done right the first time and that means getting the sound I want when I want it. The pedal is extremely quiet and the knobs do their jobs quietly, smoothly without any hassles. This pedal is not noisy. I didn't find the effects weak...I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the quality of compression as I turned the compressor knob. The compression was even and precisely what I was looking for when using it in the studio. As for my amps...I'm the kind of person who plugs everything into everything else and I like to experiment. Since I spend so much time in the studio I've had this pedal plugged into my FIREPOD. The chain is as follows: BASS to PEDAL to FIREPOD to COMPUTER. One extra added bonus I've found with this pedal in live applications is the built-in NOISE GATE. That was an unexpected surprise but a very pleasant surprise. Reliability: 10 Yes you can depend on it. If your gear is crapping out on you then you might want to consider how you're treating it. I baby my gear even in transport. I think it's built to last and built tough. Customer Support: 10 Here's where I'm going to sing the praises of this company. I've spoke with them and dealt with them both over the phone and personally and they have delivered a HIGH LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I'm thoroughly impressed with the support I've received. Overall Rating: 10 I play all styles of music ranging from acoustic to blues to jazz to rock to metal. I've been playing for 3 years and I'm a gigging musician in Austin, TX. I own a PEAVEY BAM 210, CORT ARTISAN 5 STRING, SCHECTER ELITE 4 STRING and of course AMT PRODUCTS. I'd definitely buy it again because it's not only been reliable but the service has been impecable. The only thing I wish it had was the winning lottery numbers in the box.  The pedal helps me not only make music but get the task at hand accomplished. Like anything in the world...it's a tool. If you use the tool for the right application then it will make accomplishing the task at hand easier and that is what this does for me.I would like to reiterate that I've had EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and I've found this company to not only be personable but enjoyable to deal with. www.myspace.com/crashroom9 |

Volume, bass, treble, contour (mids), gain, and distortion. Blending the gain and distortion controls give you anything from Black Crows to Van Halen. On/off true bypass footswitching....awesome! Sound Quality: 10 To me this thing is the closest to Van Halen in a box as you can get. I have a couple of Peavey Wolfgangs and this pedal through my Custom Hiwatt 100 (set clean) and Marshall 4x12's can draw up a convincing array of EVH tones. Roll back the volume and the sound cleans up just like an amp does. This pedal even responds differently with whatever guitar you use. A strat through this pedal gives you a good rock/blues tone, and a guitar with active EMG's (81,85) will give you every Hard rock song that came out of the 80's. My amps are always set clean and I rely on stompboxes for gain. This pedal has plenty of volume output and great EQ control. Reliability: 10 5 year warranty.......nuff said! Customer Support: 10 The gang at amtnorthamerica.com are great.... Call and ask for Don or CJ. They really care about the customer, and will suggest the best way to achieve the tone you hear in your head. Don personally has been responsible for getting me away from rack gear, and going back to a stompbox through a cranked tube amp......Hendrix and Stevie would be proud! Overall Rating: 10 My Death Star guitar rig is complete. I have some great overdrive pedals (most modified by Robert Keeley), and needed a distortion pedal to pick up where my DS-1 Ultra Zone, and tube screamers left off. This pedal is it! I use the Keeley TS-9 for blues (SRV), Keeley DS-1 Ultra for AC/DC type stuff, the AMT Fatal Tube for Van Halen and all harder rock, and the AMT Du Hast for extreme Godsmack/Pantera stuff. AMT has helped complete me....Thanks guys! |

Sound Quality: 10 the sound quality is good ...the pedal played by itself isnt impressive but when you chain it with another for (boost) its really good professional tube lead sound ..and thats where you will be impressed with it ...my setup is a wah wah first-platinum second-DS1 third ....i play with the platinum on and then hit the ds1 with it when i want my boosted leads and the combo kick arse"" Tone and Sustain heaven like the pro's. yeah you can do that with any other pedal but this one changes everything else chained to it to a tube sound and when there all together its really a good combo compared to many top of the line i have tried. try some out and then put the platinum or a maginum in the chain and see. i will be replacing the ds-1 with a california sound just as soon as i can catch one in stock somewhere. It can be a little noisy if you plan on using it as your main distortion cranked...but if you use it for blending like i do its very quiet . Reliability: 10 these are made very good tuff rugged metal casing with a good made off and on switch that is suprisingly smooth to switch off and on this is defintly gig made material and there are some known famous users that do just that. pro made . no corners cut here Customer Support: 8 hard to get any info in the states... but the main sight Russia is awsome and great people very friendly they answered every email sent ... never needed support for my platinum ...just purchasing info Overall Rating: 9 25 years playing ...7 years live playing the rest home hobby i play a mix of joe\\vai\\rhodes\\halen\\lynch\\my own style prefered\\ i own or have owned many pedals\\effects and couldnt get that perfect boosted leads...easy to get a boost simply with two pedals that match up...but most lack sustain or tone...this pedal provides that so at the moment its what i love about it...i would buy another if it got stolen i have compare it to the ds-1...the sd-1...ts808...Vamp pro and all where tested as pedals used for blending(not a main single pedal) it out sounds all for blending purpose - a real tube - a real tube sound. thats the bottom line of it. |
