And after QC Michael will have a couple of weeks QT (Quality Time) with the guitar. THEN it will be sent to me for another QC QT for a long time. Call me in about a year or something Daniel!

well, if you take out week ends. thats about 261. and russian holidays. of which i am led to believe there is a large number. lets make it 21. apx max 240 guitars able to be shipped. by my calculation. how many guitars ARE made a year though? |

yes, there are more like FIFTY holidays in the russian work-year (at least it seems that way to me...) I think our maximum production capability is maybe 50 or 60 export guitars a year... that would be require all of our master-crafters working 'flat-out', and thats going under the assumption that everything goes very smoothly (no delays due to circumstances beyond our control). We shipped exactly 26 export guitars in 2004, and im not sure how many 'domestic' guitars were made (i would guess maybe three dozen?) but most of the domestic instruments were built by our up-and-coming young apprentices (some of whom will someday become the master crafters of the future...) |

lots! i cant count em all, since i dont have anything to do with the people in the repair division, but there are at least 6 or 8 crafters working over there, maybe a few more. Three guys in the completing shop, a couple specialists who look after the lacquer room (in another building), two shop managers, a couple people who run around town all day bying parts and supplies, a couple of janitors, a full-time machinist, a guy who maintains all the tools, six or eight apprentices, and the 8 master crafters who build all of our export models, and of course Mr. Shamray himself - and probably a few more people im missing. I think the last 'family photo" that was taken a few years back showed about three dozen people working here. IF i can ever find the time, im going to make an "FAQ" section on our website that includesa page with bios of all the master crafters, and links to all their completed guitars... |

yeh, or mabye even revising the thread in the way you title them, or mabye in the first post, just maker the builder a bit more obvious. - the website needs an update. im sure you know. theres "recent" news on one page that relates to 2003. perhaps shamray should hire a guy to sit on a computer all day too.  a good website will help sell more guitars. oh my god, i think its RAN guitars, have the poorest website ive ever seen. theres like 6 photos of guitars on the whole thing. |

Daniel, please, describe your impressions. Lucian Moynihan, i think anyone website can't help us make more guitars. Shamray is a small workshop of hi-end hand made guitars. And I think never will be a big factory. But any updates of this board is posible in future. |

I think I´ve pestered Michael alot. Nowadays I don´t even need to write in the mails, just leave it blank for Michael to fill in with adequate "pestering". Michael, you know you´re our "hero" anyway, and without you it wouldn´t had been any guitars for us. |
