Congratulations Patrick, on the birth of your THIRD new Shamray Custom Shop instrument (serial number CS 0100)! We will post pictures of it's construction-in-progress from time to time here in this thread. For the curious, here are the specs on CS 0100: Body shall be opaque black with white bindings on top and back (1 layer) , nitro finish. Pinstriping on top sides and back done as in pictures , stripes to be white. Traditional tele body shape so no comfort cut. Tele headstock shape. Maccassar ebony neck tenatively unfinished (bare wood) with engraved logo. Construction Method: Material for neck: Maccassar Ebony (mostly black, if possible!) Hey paul, vind die rosewood tele wel mooi hoor. De gitaar zelf krijgt al dubbele binding en pinstriping dus het geheel is al een stuk minder saai zeg maar.. Maar ik heb voorlopig de neck helemaal naturel gelaten ( zelfs geen finish ). Wil eerst de neck zien als hij bijna af is voor ik besluit wat ik er eventueel wel en niet aan wil laten doen. En skunkstripe komt er niet. Het wordt de zelfde contructie als de neck op de strat van Michael met appart fretboard. |

Oh yes , I have got the most awsome neck on my shamray strat ( birdseye ) and i was actualy opting for a instrument grade flame maple neck on this tele at first. But after some tonal advise from Michael i knew i would like this neck as a tonewood also. So picturing this ebony neck on a black tele made the choice easy. | |

No idea! Last week i enquired, and Shamray said they were still debating on the best way to execute it. The vast majority of artwork is done at our artists home... Anya happens to be married to Valodya, who is the manager of the repair shop here, and he has some special road cases that were made for transporting the 'artwork' back and forth. So I usually dont get to see the artwork until its finished! Incidently - as i look out my window here, i can see their building in the distance. (the shop is in the east of town, and we live about an hour away, in the south...) If you look at the picture, your pinstriping work is going on 'just over there', across the street from the new church thats being built... |

I dont know the details.. but i suspect that the body art (PINSTRIPING) is taking longer than expected (since i havent seen the body back in the shop!) its very challenging to do that sort of thing and stay in the parameters of "thin nitro finish"... |

Unfortunately (for reasons unknown) our completing guy Dima was NOT at the shop today - so there was NOTHING going on near the completion bench. I was disappointed to find that I had made the two and half hour commute to the shop (in sub-zero temperatures) pretty much 'for NOTHING' today! Dima is my english-speaking laison at the shop, now that Shamray and Stepanov are both gone... Anyway, i shall be going there again TOMMORROW - (or possibly Friday - im going to call in advance this time) and will get updates for EVERYONE then! |

Its possible the guitar is already completed... i didnt see it in the completing area today! Unfortunately, I was just dropping by the shop (late for an appointment across town) , and simply didnt have time to meet with Dima and take stock of things. I will be in the shop for a couple of HOURS tommorrow, to deliver 4 boxes of guitar parts, and get a FULL STATUS REPORT on all projects! |

HOHOHO ...... look what santa brought me today Been playing it for over a hour now and its damn hard to put it down its that good. As for playability goes this one is the best i got so far straight out of the box. Set up is dead on to way i like it and i wont need to adjust anything. It really plays like butter . Best part is the sound who ever keeps saying that ebony is not a choice neckwood because it will make the guitar sound to bright has no idea what hes talking about. Its not brighter then any other telecaster i played but it is richer and more articulate or tight or whatever you like to call it .Michael was right about the kinman avn 48 set being the best tele pickups around. They are both great but the bridge pup is a real bad mofo ... it has a lot of output , growls , but sounds great clean also specialy with a lil turn of the volume knob. Oh nearly forgot that the pics never did it justice ( i am used to that now )! I think i can honestly say the neck wood gives me wood if ya know what i mean .Thanks Maxim for building a great guitar ( paul was right about you ). And a big thanks to Michael for reasons we all know ! Back to playing now.......... |

Hey paul ! Nope all bottles are full still . Its a familt tradition of my to have a xmas/new years bar under the xmas tree every year! Believe it or not but other then around xmas time i barely drink . By the way it would be fun for both our teles to meet !
