Hei! Gratulerer. "Ta igjen svenskene"-snøballen begynner å rulle! ;)

Looks like one versatile guitar, Kaspar. I'll ne following this closely. I wonder how a mahogany Tele will sound. With the humbucker, I guess you'll be close to a bolt neck LP. Kind of a "best of both worlds"-thing going on there. Enjoy the wait... I mean "ride". ;-)

The point was to make a versatile guitar, so I hope it will work as I have thought...

"best of both worlds" is just whats going on here... =) the ride is going to be awesome. =)

Kaspar: If you use html entities like $aring; for $aring;, and check "preserve html tags" under the textarea where you type your posts, you can use norwegian (and other) special characters on the forum.

The middle humbucker on the tele looks very unusual. Not bad, just unusual, and I guess thet's part of the idea.

Just a thought, have you considered building it without a pickup bezel on the middle pickup? I think the guitar looks great, but the bezel looks a bit out of place. But that's just my subjective opinion...

I agree with Lars Erik. You could (should IMNSHO) mount the pickup directly in the plastic pickguard. That will probably look much more subtle (better. Again; IMNSHO.) ;-)

Like so:

BTW: Is it intentional that you have an AVn48n instead of an AVn48b at the bridge position? If so: Why?

The idea with the crome bezel was that the colers would be shiny crome, black and a bit dirty dark red... I did want a open humbucker, so then the bezel was a copromiss. How tho attach some shiny metal on the humbucker with out having a complet cover...

I didnt see that the sufix "n" was for neck when ordering I thought that the numbers 48 and 60 in AVn48n AVn60n was what separeted them in neck and brigde pickups. So i didnt want a neck pickup in bridge... I do want a lipstick cover in neck, but isnt that standard with the KINMAN pickups?

Kasper with what you are saying are you sure you want the avn60 in the neck ? Coz if you thought the 60 was neck and 48 bridge you probably didnt realise there was a set of 48's for both neck and bridge. Not saying a 60 in the neck will be bad though just different and slightly less output then the 48 and the humbucker

I've tried em both, and I think the '60' neck is only marginally different from the '48' neck. the REAL difference between those two set's is in the BRIDGE pickups! With that humbucker in there, i think the 60 neck pup is a very good choice...

I will arrive in Moscow in the morning 2.june and leave with the nighttrain back to St.Petersburg on the 3. So the pick up will be during this visit... =) I won't not be in Moscow that long, but you, or anybody, recomend something I should do?
Would be cool to go see some live music... but i'll guess Moscow isnt the city to just stumble around not knowing where to go, especially as a tourist.

Yeah, and do hire a guide if you can find one (the serious ones have badges). Not only will they tell you things about the different buildings etc., they will also take you past every queue to the different attractions, which was a great advantage. But wasn't it a school trip? Might have to follow their schedule then...

It is a school trip, but only a part of my class is going to Moscow and the teacher that are with us is very easially persueded and not so strict... so I dont think there will be much problem to work out a partially own schedule... =)
Kremlin is noticed, though I think thats part of the "official" schedule... and I will tip my teacher about this guide thing... thanks
but where do you go if you wont to se live music in Moscow? Is the scene very "hidden"?

In Russia, the GOOD bands are very well-hidden, yes! You can see plenty of awful pap masquerading as 'top russian artists', so beware! :-)

But if you go to the B2 or Apelsin clubs, you 'might' get lucky and catch a good show. If you can see 'Jazz Lobster' or 'Dolphin' ( both very progressive, modern, heavy, musical rock-based ensembles, despite the odd names) it will be worth your time.

you might want to keep an eye on the gig calendar here:

Hi
I am in a internet cafe. In St.Petersburg and traveling to Moscow by train to night. I have recived all the info on locating the shop. Thanks Micheal... but I havent recived any pictures and I must admit that I am a bit worried that the guitar isnt finished. You kill this bad feeling once and for all and tell me that the guitar will be finished tomorrow? That would have made my day... Cheers and see you tomorrow

Hi, Im now in a small village in Estonia where I
have dug up a computer with internett
connection... =)
The guitar is finished and passed russian
customs. And Im very happy =). I havent had a
chance to try it on a decent amp yet, but it
sound very nice "acoustic", but when I made a
"jack plug" out of a minijack cable and to
convertors and connected it to my minicube it
generated a sweeping hiss, but I suspect that
its becouse of the stereo plugs and the bad
connection... Any Ideas what might have coused
this problem?

audiocable's aren't any good for instrument use, you get a hiss indeed, no worries!

Do not warry. Use usual mono-jack and there will be no problems.

I thought so =), but when I tried the same cable later in the evning yesterday I had no problems...

The Guitar shines still after a couple of hours play time. I really looking forward to try it on my own tubeamp at home, but unfortanatly Im not home before the 10. june...

I have to thank you Alex for making the pickup as easy as possible, even though some problems did accure =), In which adventures doesnt problems accure? When you are in the middle of it It can be a bit frustrating and stressing, but as long as the end is good all is good.
I really enjoyed the drive to the Red Squer =)

I will come back with a more feedback on the guitar when I have had a chance to test it at home .

Cheers
